Senior Photo Session - Cheyenne
Cheyenne was one of my 2020 Senior Models this past year. A student at Bishop Watterson High School in Columbus, Ohio, Cheyenne is an avid competitor in IEA horse reining competitions, including attending the National Championship last summer!
As part of my senior model program, we do sessions at multiple locations in the Central Ohio area. This helps get a variety of looks of the locations as well as several clothing changes. Working with Cheyenne and her family we chose a total of three locations - the Park of Roses for a more natural feel, downtown Columbus for the urban look, and a horse farm so we could capture images of Cheyenne and her horse. Each of these sessions were done on a different day.
Columbus Park of Roses
The Columbus Park of Roses is a wonderful location for senior photo sessions, especially timed with golden hour. There is a large variety of flower gardens, trellises, and a fountain to provide a backdrop for photos. And you can’t forget the spiral staircase which is always a popular spot as well!
We had a lot of fun on this session, taking advantage of the great light and colors of the park!
Downtown Columbus
For the urban feel we spent an early morning in downtown Columbus taking pictures. Columbus is a great city to photograph portrait sessions in, as within a relatively easy walk you can have photos of the city skyline, bridges, brick townhouse fronts, parking garage, and even some grungier areas to get that perfect look and feel.
For this session we explored all around. Towards the end we really went for the urban cowgirl look using the city as a backdrop for this senior photo session.
Horse Farm
This was Cheyenne in her natural element! We headed out to the horse farm just outside of Columbus to capture images of Cheyenne and her horse. You can tell by Cheyenne’s smile this was her favorite location of the three!
We had the opportunity to photograph in a variety of places at the horse farm. From the stable to grassy fenced in riding areas and at the outdoor arena. It was great to help capture images of Cheyenne and her horse to help save the memories of her senior year!
